The fine songwriter Mark Sandman (with Morphine) sings about how hazardous life is for women and vows that the bad guys who mistreat them will get their due. In other songs, Sandman admits to his own failings in regard to women, including adultery, but here he plainly calls out the men who treat women badly. Is the song feminist, or an observation that humans mistreat the more vulnerable of the species? We can't ask him now. Not that he would tell us.
