Gripping, frank missive from Van Etten's breakout album. Aaron Dessner: This was a song we recorded late during the sessions for Tramp in my Brooklyn garage. That was 2010. It was a song she had performed quite a bit. I'd heard it, but we had the idea it would fit perfectly with Warsaw and Serpents, that are in the same zone. It's haron with a guitar and I'm playing these counter melodies against it. She's on the new record as a spoken-word vocal on The Pull Of You.
