"Getaway" is the opening track from Dev's debut studio album "The Night The Sun Came Up". It was released 31 August, 2011 in Europe along with the album. The song begins in a mellow ballad-style song then shifts to an electronic urban hip-hop track with a free-verse rap. The song opens the album detailing problems of the singer's past, examining her small hometown where people told her to give up on her dreams.
