This episode covers the two year (1764-1767) period of terror experienced by the people of the former province of Gévaudan in France as they endured a series of attacks by a man-eating animal (or animals) that came to be known as the Beast of Gévaudan. Within the episode, the song 'French Heads' is sung by a puppet version of the titular Beast of Gévaudan, created, voiced, and operated (as all puppets on Puppet History) by Shane Madej.
