Freedom Anthem by topical protest singer brokenjarafingers was inspired by the Arab Spring and imagines marches across the world in search of freedom. The otherwise inexplicable name brokenjarafingers comes from the deliberately broken fingers of the great Chilean protest singer, Victor Jara, by the then regime in order to stop him writing and singing the songs protesting against exactly such repression, as a metaphor for all such curtailments of artistic and personal freedom.
