It was originally intended to be the lead single for Ariana's third studio album, which was originally titled "Moonlight". The title "Moonlight" was eventually scrapped, and "Dangerous Woman" was titled her third studio album instead, with "Dangerous Woman" as the lead single. Upon its release, the track received mixed reviews
