The Fermi paradox is a conflict between arguments of scale and probability that seem to favor intelligent life being common in the universe, and a total lack of evidence of intelligent life having ever arisen anywhere other than on the Earth. Put more simply, The Fermi paradox is the conflict between the fact that the odds are quite likely that intelligent life is out there in the universe, and the fact that weβve seen no evidence of other forms of life out there.
