“Ever Since New York” is the second song to have been performed off of Harry Styles' self-titled debut solo album. It is a slow folk-style song, which adds to the already eclectic range of genres making up the rest of the album. The song details a strong sadness seemingly about a disconnection and an inability to move forward with someone Harry cares deeply about. In a private show, he detailed that he wrote the song about bad news he got about a family member when he was in a hotel in Brooklyn, New York.
