"Eve" is a song released by Carpenters for their debut album Ticket to Ride. It was written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis. This song was inspired by the UK horror/sci-fi series “Journey to the Unknown” episode titled “Eve” that was the tenth episode of the first season and aired on September 26, 1968. It starred Dennis Waterman as a shy, unlucky in love sales clerk named Albert Baker who finds himself falling in love with a mannequin named Eve (played by Carol Lynley) that comes to life in his fantasies.
