"Energetic" is the second track on BoA's eponymous debut English album, which was released on March 17, 2009, in the United States. On May 30th, before their performance at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan, BoA and Sean Garrett confirmed in an interview that "Energetic" would be the third single from the album. It is another track written and produced by Sean Garrett, therefore continuing their partnership. The track utilizes an uptempo electro-dance riff that is repeated throughout the song.
