“Elite” is the third track from American alternative metal Deftones' third album "White Pony", their highest selling album to date. While the album marked a significant growth in the band’s sound, incorporating new wave, dream pop, trip-hop, and shoegazing influences, this song hearkened back to the band’s previous style of searing vocals coupled with a heavy, distorted guitar riff that drives the song, most reminiscent of earlier songs such as “Headup” and “My Own Summer (Shove It)”.
