This track off Kanye’s second album, Late Registration, and is his homage to the art of creeping through the hood, with a more general message about taking life easy. Slow-flowing rappers GLC and Paul Wall are featured to accentuate the slow tempo. Kanye sampled Hank Crawford’s “Wildflower” for the beat; the same song was sampled for 2Pac’s “Shorty Wanna Be a Thug”, Eminem’s “No One’s Iller”, and J. Cole’s “Dreams”. “Drive Slow” was certified gold by the RIAA on September 1, 2021.
