Following a similar theme of breakups and romance throughout the album, this song highlights Mark’s despair at his break-up with a girlfriend. In the band’s live album, The Mark, Tom and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back!), Mark jokes that this song is about his genital herpes. In a program for one of Blink’s tours around the time of Enema’s release, Tom left a brief annotation for each track. For “Don’t Leave Me”: "'Mark wrote that song, so I can’t really speak about what was going through his mind when he wrote that one.
