"Dolphins Were Monkeys" is the second single from Ian Brown's second solo album, Golden Greats. Released on 7 February 2000, it placed at number five on the UK Singles Chart. The single remix is also featured on Brown's compilation album, The Greatest. The cover was designed by artist Ian Wright as was the cover of all singles from the album and the album cover itself The b-side of the CD (but not the 7 inch single) features Ian's version of "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson.
