Dog was the first ever release by Rumpus Room. It was recorded in 1996 at the infamous Fridge Recording Studio, which was owned and operated by Contact FM and housed in the cowshed at Waikato University. At the time all three founding members (Andrew Newth, Greg Page, Scott Newth) worked for the radio station, and Andrew was in charge of running the studio. Scott Brodie from Inchworm (and formerly Love & Violence) joined Rumpus Room for this one track.
