Sufi music among the Wolof of Senegal (the Qaddiriyya Sufi brotherhood) makes use of tabala drums, which are a set of hand-carved, wooden, tympani-like kettle drum. Village Pulse produced a CD of tabala drumming (VPU-1002) called "Tabala Wolof: Sufi Drumming of Senegal."
