The Deathryder (affected spelling of 'deathrider'), subject of this song, was a friend of the band. He was said to be a daring dangerous driver. He later abandoned his demonic ways and adopted a more normal lifestyle. Musically the song is very fast, typical for the hardcore punk sound of that era but there is a very metallic twist to the music; even featuring early palm muting riffing with advanced heavy metal shredding. Thus, showcasing the lead guitarists' real talent. They were beyond the average hardcore punk guitarist.
