Cole pits his skills against hip-hop royalty, using the “Dead Presidents II” instrumental from Jay-Z’s iconic debut "Reasonable Doubt", which itself borrows a line from Nas' “The World is Yours” for its chorus and title. Also, on the mixtape, Cole talks about how someone criticized his rendition of “Dead Presidents I” on “The Come Up” so he’s trying really hard here to step up his game.
