From band site: The third song is called "dead men and sinners" and is one of the more improvisational songs on the album. I had a melody in mind when I wrote the lyrics and we basically went into the studio and made up the rest. We banged on anything we could find for percussion, we made doors creak and bottles rustle to create the sound of a ship- there's even j Robbins dog doc barking in there somewhere. The idea is that this ship is wrecked and nine men escape to an island.
