“Dan” marks the final track on Noah Kahan’s fourth studio album, The Great Divide. Dan is widely understood to be a longtime friend of Kahan, one of the two young boys on the The Great Divide’s album cover, and the central figure behind the title track. It is speculated that “Dan” may be Kahan’s friend and fellow artist, Dan Wilson, co-writer of Kahan’s track, “Busyhead,” which marked Kahan’s first co-written song.
