The Purple Underground were a very popular three piece act, around the state of Florida in the late 60s. They were Tom Nay guitar, vocals, Jon Lafrandre, organ,vocals and his brother Halsey Lafrandre. The brothers were from Winterhaven Florida and Tom Nay was from Sarasota. They released 2 singles and recorded at Charles Fuller Productions, Tampa, Fl. The first release was a regional hit called "count back". Countback was picked to become a #1 record in northern Calif.
