"Communication Breakdown" is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, from their 1969 debut album Led Zeppelin. This blistering proto-punk anthem was inspired the Eddie Cochran song "Nervous Breakdown". The palm-muted downstroke technique Jimmy Page uses on the track would become strongly associated with punk rock some years later. Amongst other such punk guitarists, it influenced Johnny Ramone's "all-downstroke" style of guitar playing. Page developed the riff during the band's first tour in Scandinavia
