"Comeback" was written between 2017 and 2018 by Carly Rae Jepsen, with Jared Manierka and Jack Antonoff, during the development of "Dedicated". Though the song failed to make the cut for the album, it would instead be released as part of "Dedicated Side B". Carly Rae Jepsen first premiered the song at the Ally Coalition Talent Show on December 13th 2019
