Tom (aka Pitch Twit), battling the inadequacies of an old music programme called Cool Edit Pro (no bars or beats to aid production) worked on an instrumental track called Spanish Sadness with Rob McVey of when they studied together at Salford University. After hearing Rob’s skill with an old nylon string guitar (one of about eight dotted around Rob’s room) Tom provided a rich backing track to allow Rob to improvise over. The result was an intensely sad piece of music that shifted subtly between anger and a deep sense of loss.
