"Cinnamon Girl" is a 1969 song by Neil Young that was the opening track on his 1969 album "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere". Young famously revealed in the liner notes for his 1976 compilation album Decade that he wrote the song alongside other album tracks Down By The River and Cowgirl in the Sand while suffering from the flu and a 103 °F fever at his home in California. Young has never said who the Cinnamon Girl is. He prefers to leave lyric interpretations to the listener.
