It signifies a departure from most of the other sounds on the album, choosing bubblegum-inflected vocals and a left-field North West feature. During a Instagram Live on January 25, 2025, FKA twigs opened up about the inspiration behind her song “Childlike Things,” describing it as a dream rooted in her childhood. “It was about me dreaming about being an artist… where I could go, the people that I can meet, and the things that I could make.“
