This song is one of the many that Sade and her band made that can be interpreted in several ways. As a spiritual song of communion; as a song of devotion to the chosen one; as a song of remembrance and re-commitment to the past/future/present. But again; her band should get just as much credit in this song as in many others in the same way that Chaka Khan and Rufus had undeniable harmony.
