The Wolfe Tones' Brian Warfield wrote Celtic Symphony in 1987 to celebrate the centenary of Glasgow Celtic Football Club. It tells the story of a Glasgow sailor possessed by the devil who travels the world trying to exorcise himself from the Devil. A visit to Celtic's stadium in the East End of Glasgow seems to work and the Devil is exorcised on the walk to Celtic's stadium. The song has been sung on the terraces by Celtic fans ever since. Celtic are a Scottish football club followed exclusively by fans who are Irish Catholic.
