"Carry It On" is a song written by American folk singer-songwriter Gil Turner. A Civil Rights anthem, it has been recorded by folk artists such as Joan Baez and Judy Collins. The version by Joan Baez appears on her album of the same name released in 1971 as the soundtrack to the documentary film of the same name that chronicles the events taking place in the months immediately before the incarceration in 1969 of Baez's husband at the time, David Harris.
