"Carolina in My Mind" is a song written and recorded by the American singer-songwriter James Taylor. It was Taylor's second single from his 1968 self-titled debut album. The song has been recorded by a number of other artists. The version by Melanie is on her 1970 album "Candles in the Rain", with an arrangement and vocal phrasing that are different from Taylor's.
