“Carolina” is the third track of Harry Styles' debut solo album. It was first performed on May 9, 2017, on The Today Show, but the studio version was not officially released until May 12, along with the rest of the album. The song is thought to be inspired by a fan named Townes, as well as (to a lesser extent) cocaine, with the title specifically being a reference to Johnny Cash’s “Cocaine Carolina”. The track is Harry’s father’s favorite song on the album.
