City Sines documents vehicles in the American city from the pedestrian perspective: two in the air, and two on the ground. Each composition considers a particular vehicle in one of two American cities (San Francisco and Chicago, the two cities Ximm spent his adult life in). For each one, Ximm identified a primary resonant frequency, one which he heard at the heart of the unedited recording. This frequency is explicitly added back to the otherwise unedited source as a modulated sine tone, mixed towards the edge of perceptibility.
