This song started life as the B-Side 'We Are Broken', in 1983. The boys took that and sped it up, adding a rock-approach to it and it became 'Broken'. The song is linked with Head Over Heels in a mini-suite on the album. This is because there is a similiar melody in both the songs. During a break in Broken (around 0:52), you can hear a sped up version of the intro from Head Over Heels.
