After the intro of "Doors", "Brand Name" sets the tone for "GO:OD AM" with references to him kicking his drug habit, and staying away from the idea that a Brand Name product can be more than what it is. Mac attaches that to the notion that he isn’t as special as everything thinks he is, he doesn’t feel like the famous ass kid coming fresh out of Pittsburgh, he felt ignored by some of his former core audience after his artistic transformation, which shed the fat of his “frat rap” persona.
