"Billy Goodbye" is about old friendships fizzling out or coming to a close with no bad blood. It emphasizes how important it is to remember the good times, even if a friendship has long ended or wouldn't fit into your life anymore. Before being featured on the compilation album "Hits To The Head," released on March 11th, 2022, "Billy Goodbye" was released as a single on November 2nd, 2021. It is the first Franz Ferdinand track featuring Audrey Tait as drummer after Paul Thomson's departure.
