The opener to PJ Harvey’s fifth studio album represents her reaction to the impressive amount of news regarding gun shootings she read during her period in New York. It may also serve as a greater commentary on gun ownership in USA, something a British woman like her is not used to, and the general obsession American people may have with guns, perceived as much-needed means of self-defense.
