Bette Davis Eyes is a song by Kim Carnes written by Jackie DeShannon & Donna Weiss. Released on March 10, 1981, as the lead single to Kim's sixth album Mistaken Identity. It won the 1982 Grammy Awards for Song of the Year & Record of the Year and also reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video was directed by Australian film director Russell Mulcahy. Bette Davis Eyes was originally written in 1974 by Donna Weiss & Jackie DeShannon, the latter of whom recorded the song that same year for her album New Arrangement.
