This song is about Ronald Reagan hence the title is referred to the film he appeared in 1951's "Bedtime for Bonzo" alongside Diana Lynn and Peggy the chimp. As this song was released in 1982, comparing Ronald Reagan's early career as a Hollywood actor to his "acting" as the President of the United States.
