Au Pays du Cocaine (poorly) translates the standard English title of Bruegel’s “Het Luilekkerland"—"The Land of Cockaigne"—to French and puns on it. The figure at the back of the tree in Bruegel’s painting wears what might be a ‘big green coat’ (this character is generally taken as a soldier, but his lance looks more than a little like an oar…) while he lounges in the afterlife, the decadent ‘land of plenty’ that is Cockaigne. Of course, there’s no coming back from this, but then, ‘it’s fine.’
