In a YouTube video uploaded in October 2006, Geoff Rickly explains the meaning behind “Asleep In The Chapel”, the sixth song off of “War All The Time”. Rickly stated that the song is a hope rather than a prayer coming from somebody who doesn’t feel as if they’re “in the providence”. “Asleep In The Chapel” was one of the first songs written for the album and was simultaneously one of the last to be finished.
