“Annaline” sets the difference of tone leaving meaning. presents from its harsh predecessors straight from the get-go, with all the markings of a chamber folk love song with soft, ambient and subdued textures. The song is quite similar in this respect to “Evangeline” from Gira’s past project "Angels of Light". “Annaline” probably has the most extensive history of the songs on the album. It was the sole original demo song exclusive to "I Am Not This"
