"Animal Nitrate" is the second track on the self-titled debut album by the Britpop band, Suede, released on Nude Records in 1993. The title of the track is a pun on the thrill-seeking drug "amyl nitrite", more well known as poppers. The song, about gay sex, reached No. 7 in the UK Singles Chart, fulfilling frontman Brett Anderson's lifetime goal of having a top ten hit about a "bizarre sexual experience."
