“Angie” is the only gentle, ballad-like track on Shame’s otherwise vigorous debut album "Songs of Praise", making it an appropriate album closer. Frontman Charlie Steen delivers the lyrics in a spoken word fashion as if narrating a grim love story. The song left album producer Dan Foat in tears to the point that he and co-producer Nathan Boddy insisted it be included on the album.
