“Alive” is the first single of Sia’s seventh studio album This Is Acting. “Alive” was co-written with Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr for Adele’s third album, 25. However, it was rejected by Adele from the project.. Sia to Slovenian site RTV: It’s about Adele’s life, so I now sing a song from Adele’s perspective. This is the first song from this new project. I’m calling it "This Is Acting" because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go into it thinking, ‘this is something I would say’.
