One of the best examples if "Ragtime" music, actually a multistrain of the real thing. This is wrtten by Irving Berlin , 1927, recorded by Bessie Smith, rare for a African American at the time, as Irving was a Tin Pan Alley mainstay, and this was a crafted song from the real African American "style" of ragtime playing on the piano. Real black musicians, or ragtime players were not recorded, TIn Pan Alley was 99% sheet music at the time, later Broadway and Movies.
