In Travis Scott’s August 2019 documentary Look Mom I Can Fly–which focused mainly on his life–the Cactus Jack Records leader surprisingly previewed new music, a snippet of “After Party.” In September 2019, Cactus Jack affiliate Chedda Da Connect revealed the song’s title in an Instagram comment, where he rejected the fan-made name of “Lamborghini.” On September 2, Don Toliver teased his involvement of the track via Twitter, where he reposted two lines of Travis' verse.
