“Action Cat“ is Gerard Way’s first non-pseudonym solo release. In the studio, Gerard tried to record the vocals and instruments poorly to try and recreate a retro sound. Gerard is singing from the point of view of someone young who has just left a serious relationship and describes the worries, thoughts and feelings they experience during the aftermath.
