This song is a very personal response to the London riots by Brokenjarafingers, neither a knee-jerk reaction to the Right nor the Left, but an attempt to fully understand the manifold issues surrounding it even while wishing it had been done for some nobler motive and that local shopkeepers hadn't been part of the targets. And especially the songwriter wishing it hadn't allowed the floodgates to open to the current calls for harsh punitive measures now so manifestly part of the new political debate.
