“A Whisper” serves as the continuation of the themes of an existential crisis, which can only be cured by finding love and someone to share life with. From another point of view, the song is dealing with paranoia in a relationship, known as “A Whisper” in the head of the protagonist. In the band’s e-zine, Chris Martin touched upon the song: "“A Whisper"’s covered in [recording misorders] because it was just us messing around and didn’t change it."
