“7 Hours” is his way of saying that a 7 hour drive is nothing to him if it means he can spend time with the person he loves. The line ‘And I treat it like life or death, won’t do twenty-five to life just for killing time with me’ only further drives this message home by expressing how badly he wants to be with her, and the rest of the song is him trying to convince the person he traveled for to be as committed as he is.
